New starter missing terminal "D"

Swapping motors mercruiser to omc, and the merc had a new starter, however, it is missing the terminal for the purple wire. How can I bypass this?? The merc HEI did not have a purple wire, but also had a different alternator set up. I am using all omc stuff. Thanks.

No sure what you are talking about. Post some pictures and a better explanation of your problem so we can help you out... You talk about a starter but then an alternator and an HEI ignition...?

It's an automotive starter. They don't use that terminal.

Don, the merc had this starter and it worked, and according to the merc diagrams there is no purple wire. But I will go and order the omc starter. Thanks.
