Did I just damage the pickup in the distributor - Please say no

91 5.8 L Ford. I was checking the pickup, and adjusting the air gap, (.008 in) and I wanted to take a look at the centrifugal advance, so I was going to remove the coil pickup. Never having done that before I tried to loosen the small nut in the picture on the left side

Please tell me I did not damage anything! I have the coil off the boat so I can't check for spark.

What happened when you loosened It? Snapped Off, stripped, you heard something fall?

Nothing happened, the nut just spun. Then I realized that I needed to remove the two screws. Those came out fine. I have to coil out now. What is that nut for?

Final answer - No. I did not damage anything. She is running fine.
