    I need help chosing which whaletail/ hydrofoil for my 1982 Beachcraft 190 mako with omc120hp and omc 400 drive

        I'd look at the prop first. What are you running.

        I had a tail on my '72. Did much better when I took the tail off.

          I've never had a tail before , so can't comment on that.

          but If I were you I would look into Bennett hydraulic trim tabs . They make my boat jump up on plane ( even when loaded up ) plus you can correct a number of other situations with them .

            get more motor, the 120hp was anemic at best when the motor was new. almost 40 years later, I bet your motor is tired.
