Need some help figuring this connection

Hi all i am new to boating but not engine building. While a little unfamiliar with electrical connection i had to rebuild by 1993 5.8l Efi OMC. I am having trouble locating a connection for this plug that is located in the front of the engine. If anyone if familiar with this please advise so i may reconnect. I dont see anything left so now i am scratching my head.

Yes it is the ESA connector, this should be connected to the ESA micro switches on the engine shift linkage bracket. Find the ESA module it will have the other end of it. The module on the 4.3s was mounted like this but on the V8s it could be on the intake manifold.

see it in this pic, looks like its attached to a bracket bolted to the exhaust elbow...part #40 in the diagram....
