I just picked up a new 90 Four Winns 195 and it came with a ton of extra parts, including two outdrives. Both were off the boat and although they look to be in good shape I waned to open them up some and check them out inside. I know the upper and lower unbolt but are outdrives something I can strip down at least partially to get a good look inside? I've seen seal kits for about $50 each for upper and lower. I'd hate to put it in and find out there's a leak or something wrong. I don't know if there's special tools needed to break them down or if it' just standard tools. I haven't been able to find any decent how-to's on it.

if you have the factory manual, it goes thru the entire process of assembling the drive, which tools you need, which sealants you need, etc.
