Hey all...I have a 1987 2.5l omc in a 18ft Grumman gsf....the Rochester on it is junk...I've seen the jet performance carb? Anyone have it and like it? Also looking to up the spark capability a bit...anyone know of a more performance tune up for it? Also got a lead on running a Holley on top of it.. let me know please

Stock spark is all you need. A $30 carb kit is cheaper than a new carb

Did the rebuild no improvement....had 2 desperate shops do rebuild only to improve for like a week...it has a cough at initial open throttle and sometimes backfires while starting

Ayuh,.... Sounds like it's still runnin' lean,....

Is the fuel pump, pumpin' 4 to 6 psi,..??
Is the tank freely givin' up it's load,..??
Are the fuel filters fresh, 'n clean,..?? How much crud was in the ole filter,..??

As Scott said, there's really no performance improvements for that motor,....
Runnin' Right, it'll builds 120hp all day long, enjoy it, or trade up the a boat with the motor ya really want,....
