Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to change the alternator belt on a 1990 omc cobra. It does not seem to have a spacer on the port side. Do I have to remove all four bolts on the motor mount that connect it to the engine? I assume I would put a jack under the pan to hold up the engine. Also after taking the 4 bolts out, do I need to remove the whole motor mount (two lag screws that are attached to the stringer)? Or is there enough play once the 4 bolts are removed to get the new belt in there between the engine and the engine mount?

Thanks,
Brent

You dont say what motor you are working, however most likely a 3.0. Yes, you must jack up the motor and unbolt the front mount to change the belt

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,..... Look closer,... it's doubtful it ain't there,....

If in fact, it Ain't,....
Ya oughta pull the drive before ya start,...
Otherwise, there's a highly likely chance you'll bend the drives input shaft,....
Even if ya don't, the motor needs to be Aligned any time the motor mounts are disturbed,.....
