Got an old Herter's 16 foot Model Quebec and a 1964 Johnson 9.5hp motor. I am thinking about putting in the remote controls for the throttle and shift. Anyone have an idea or suggestion on what to use or how to do this? Also would like to find a way to put in a steering wheel for this as well. I've seen the type on other boats that uses cables and pulleys. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas on how to do this?

The conversion bits for those 9.5hp exist, but are RARE. I have seen a lot of 9.5s over the years, but only one with the remote kit installed. Not saying it can't be done - keeping an eye on eBay may pay off eventually, but be prepared to look for awhile. In other words, it might be easier to sell the 9.5 and find something with more readily available remote hook-ups.
