I recently purchased a 1992 Bass Cat with a Johnson Fast Strike 175HP engine. What type of oil is best to run in it?
Any help would be appreciated.

Anything that is TCW-3 and NMMA rated. That engine isn't gonna be too particular about what kind of oil you give it, as along as it's decent TCW-3 you'll be good.

Howdy, Jayhawk.

Welcome to iboats. :)

Mix your fuel 50:1, 87 octane unleaded regular and TC-W3 rated outboard oil. Walmart SuperTech is a very good value, Pennzoil synthetic for less smoke, stink and pollution (but more bux).

Thanks JB and Cricket! Those oils are cheaper than the Factory Johnson/Evinrude oils I was planning on buying....
