Radio noise from depth finder - Fix?

I have a fairly good radio a Icom m-45 <br />it seems my hummingbird depth finder (a pretty good model too) is creating a clicking noise even through high squelch setting is there a way to fix this conflict,has anyone else delt with this problem?<br />thanks

Hello;<br />I have seen this problem before. We were able to correct it by seperating the units as far from each other as is still usable, and separating the wireing. We have had raidios & depthfinders pick up frequencies from gauges & steering helms as well. <br />Mako1, I am going to guess you may have a center console boat? If so it's hard to keep the wires away from each other, you only have 1 channel to route everything through. Do your best to tie the wires, power & signal wires, away from each other. If you coil these wires all togeather you can get alot of crossover and give you the problem you are experiencing. Give this a try I hope it helps.<br />Good luck, Rob
