A friend and I were looking at a '81 34 foot Silverton Sedan that has twin 270hp with V Drives instead of direct drives. We thought that maybe this drive set up might have a negative effect on performance/fuel consumption/planing/etc due to excessive weight to the aft, prop shaft angle, prop location, etc. V Drives aren't used much anymore, and for probably good reasons. Any comments from anyone that has experience with this boat? Thanks, Brady
