I have run out of stands and tanks. I acquired an 80's model 2 stroke 175 Yamaha. Today I went to the metal yard and picked up a bunch of 2" x 2" x 3/16" tubing to extend my boom and a bunch of 1/4" thick L metal to be used as outriggers for my cherry picker. I want to be certain of weight distribution so this beast does not tip over. I learned from experience on this one. So the motor and cherry picker hoist are very stable. So much so that I was going to put a barrel tank under the lower unit and try to start it. It has spark to all six , and even 88 compression. A bit low I thought to throw money at it. I was told it was a runing engine but have not seen or heard it run. Can it be started and run while hanging from a chain hooked through the engine hanger. The prop is off by the way. .

Take one of the other motors off a stand and swap it it in. Why take chances when the cherry picker stability seems iffy.
