I have a 1994 evinrude 225 that had the #2 cylinder piston ring locator pin came loose. After repairing the motor I did some research and found this happens because of a cooling issue with the block and #2 gets hotter than the rest. A minor solution is to change the main jet for that carb up 2 sizes. Simple fix but my carb jet is a 64D, unable to find a 66D, my question is it ok to use the 67D. Thanks for your help.

Yep, find the I.D. Of the 66D jet, then a drill bit that size....carb guys/tuners do this as needed.....

It is not a #2 issue its a total block cooling issue. It needed the water mod to increase cooling around cylinders and if you only replaced 1 damaged piston watch out as the others will soon follow. You replace all pistons when one drops. Also you do not drill jets as a imperfection in drilling can actually cause it to run leaner!! You use a jet reamer...
