Looking to replace my 25HP merc. Has had some starting problems and is a manual pull. Getting older and want electric start.

Honda make an electric start and electric trim with a tiller handle. Looks like a 3 cylinder. But is still a carb model, why no EFI. How reliable is the 25 or 30 horse Honda?

Yammie makes a new 25 that is two cylinder and is very light and has EFI.
looks like some vibration at idle.

please offer advice.

If said motor happens to be a rebadged Tohatsu similar 25 HP version, could turn it into a 30 HP for peanuts costs and save lots of money on a new motor. Newer motors whichever brand they are are quite reliable provided that are well serviced and look after once out of the box. As an alternative check 4 strokes Tohatsu 25-30 HP motors, less pricey than Honda and Merc.

If you want to remain with a 2 stroke. Evinrude has the E-tec in 25 and 30 hp.

Everything Ive read and any review ive watched puts the 25hp Yamaha as a fantastic outstanding motor .You wouldn't regret buying one of those .
