Additional sound deadening material inside the cowl.

My factory cowl foam looks mint. 1991 Evinrude 48spl 2cly 2 stroke. Will ripping it out and replacing it with one of the newer style insulating pads like dynamat help reduce sound much? My cruise RPM is 4500 and after an hour I get tired of the noise and having to yell over it. I know it won't be 4 stroke quiet but will replacing the good factory foam be worth the effort or should I leave it?

doubtful. however if you have a lot of room, look at some of the sound attenuation foam from soundown
