  • Best engine for 30 foot pontoon?

Trying to decide what would be the best engine for my 30 foot party hut pontoon boat. Currently we have a mercury 75HP which has been messing up. It won't idle and has trouble starting up. Instead of investing more money into it we have decided to just get a new one with higher HP. Preferably 150HP.

What I can't decide is what engine is reliable and best for your money? Leaning towards a Yamaha because multiple people have said they are the most reliable but they are expensive.

Max allowed on pontoon is 150HP and 15 passengers.

    Thanks!

    Welcome to Iboats,

What's the toon's max passenger & HP rated for ? If won't go tooning with max stated passengers can go for a less HP-OB.

    Happy Boating

            They are all expensive.

Buy the one that has close by service .

Which HP is available going down from a Yam 150 HP ? Boating is expensive, nobody said it was a cheap sport compared to others, but it's fun specially with family and friends. LOL!!

An e-etc 150 HO would be my choice. Love those 2 strokes
