hour meter install

Just installed a new engine and want to add an hour meter. Im planning to stick it back under the engine cover and was actually consideringmaking a bracket to mount it off of the exhaust riser. They have holes used for the shift mech and on one side they are not used so it would be easy to make a bracket to bolt on here.

My question is, does anybody think the vibration would cause problems iwht the meter? Would it be better to just mount it somewhere else or in a panel somewhere.

Does anybody use the choke wire to run the hour meter? Seems like this would be an easy place to tie in and only run when the engine was on.

Re: hour meter install

Choke wire would work fine. Hard to say about the vibration on the engine.
