I have an 89 mercruiser 3.0 and need to tighten up the u - Joint clamp at the bell housing. It loosened and is allowing water into boat. I have the outdrive off and trying to remove the bellhousing.

How do I remove the shift cable crimp clamp without destoying the bellows?

All the bellows, shift cable, and hose are brand new and would hate to have to replace them again.

Ayuh,.... What I would do is,....

Peel the crimp clamp off, 'n Toss it...

Do what ya gotta do, 'n reclamp it with 2 little zip-ties,... 1 each direction...

Or, Better yet is the Mercury outboard fuel line zip-ties, that have a full circle seal nipple cast into 'em.....

Only takes 1...
