Engine Identification

Hello, First post here. I am trying to identify my engine.
1997 Harris Royal Heritage 24' with 140 hp 3.0 Volvo Penta Sx drive.

I have looked for the engine tag but have not found it. Any ideas where it should be located?

Found an id tag on the inside sx drive SX _ CLT!
Not sure what this number is, Serial # maybe? 4111592024

Thanks for the link Took a look at the engine but did not find a tag. Will look again in the morning.

Yes that will be the serial number for the Transom Assembly as here should be the parts catalog for it, https://www.volvopentashop.com/epc/...040?path=MarineDrivesAndTransmissions/7746040

Thanks for the information. I have not found an id tag. Reaching, I have found that the water in lines are different for the years.
Is this a way to identify the engine model number?

The ID tag on the engine should be by were the bell housing and engine come together on the port side of the engine, the 1/2 inch strip were they bolt together on the engine
