Hey there, what is the best method to get your i/o motor cleaned up. I would spray an engine degreaser and follow up with water but it seems like I could mess with electric and other components . 1987 stingray 3.0 Mercruiser

Simple green generally works pretty well for certain degreasing needs.

Interior cleaner? "Totally Awesome" cleaner does the trick too.

Image result for interior cleaner totally awesome

If your stern drive has a white calcium buildup then zep shower tub tile cleaner found at homedepot works pretty well.

A garden sprayer is a good way to rinse an engine. It's low pressure, and the nozzle lets you direct the water where you want it.

Just don't spray the carb/flame arrestor, alt, starter or any of the wiring connections.
