Is there such a thing as a low profile gear case with low water pick up for the alpha one ?
I might be getting a trade in deal for a 6.2 and would like to stick with the alpha.
She already runs a bit hot with the current engine flat out. Just because of the lift she has out the water.

.

Nope

For more speed with less resistance look for a TRS drive, but then you need space for a transmission

Otherwise look for a speedmaster

In the late 80's there was an factory built Alpha one ss outdrive that gave out different performance numbers on some boat models vs the standard Alpha drives due to size differences....+ I see you've been after this quest for sometime now out on the Interweb.:eagerness:

Have you had a chance to read this adventures quest for speed yet, http://www.rlcperformance.com/images...pledigits.html

Oh Jesus. That all sounds expensive. Did really well with that boat in the first link. Also plenty money thrown at it. Great read though. Not sure some of his numbers add up though in the early stages.

Meant Sport Master, but this is also a Bravo drive. The quest for speed cost a lot as you can see, and the link the FT posted provides a lot of insight

If i recall, Bobs machine did a few alphas a while back. Google Bobs nose cones and contact them.

However you may have something else going on. Many people running stroked sbc's without low water pickups and without overheating
