I have an 89 sea ray 200 with a mercruiser 3.0 and alpha one drive.

Yesterday while flushing out the engine on the muff, I didn't realize the water was on a timer and it shut off as the engine was running. I was in the boat and heard a difference in how it sounded, looked at the drive and shut the motor down immediately. I think it was without water for about 10 seconds.

I turned the water back on and ran the motor for another 15 minutes and didn't see a rise in the engine temp.

My question is, could this cause bad damage to the impeller in the drive or should it be OK until the end of the season?

Turn the hose back on, start it up and see if its still pumping water... Since it had water in it, it wasn't running "dry". It was lubed up. If its still pumping water out, you'll be fine.
