I have an 89 sea ray 200 with a mercruiser 3.0 and alpha one drive.
Yesterday while flushing out the engine on the muff, I didn't realize the water was on a timer and it shut off as the engine was running. I was in the boat and heard a difference in how it sounded, looked at the drive and shut the motor down immediately. I think it was without water for about 10 seconds.
I turned the water back on and ran the motor for another 15 minutes and didn't see a rise in the engine temp.
My question is, could this cause bad damage to the impeller in the drive or should it be OK until the end of the season?
