Recently acquired a 68 3.9 mercury not running. After removing spark plug and inspecting piston through plug hole I noticed a perfect hole dead center in piston. looked at another 3.9 and it had the same small hole. Is this a piston design for that year, or have I seen 2 bad pistons? Thanks for any help.
