That s/n comes up as:

60 EL 6F0-301585 - 6F0-305060 1982 2-Cyl, Japan

From here:

Mariner 60-350 hp, produktions?rslista, modellguide

Parts Listing:

Mercury Parts, MARINER 60

See CDI unit, item 40 under IGNITION SYSTEM

Here is a link to the condensed version of the Clymer service manual. Download it soonest as the link is short lived.

The bullet connectors are no problem as you can always change them but as this is such an expensive part, can you say how much you paid for the one from the salvage yard and do you have a complete number, ie; T1A02-??

Re: yamaha mariner 60hp cdi wiring 1983

From this list if you select Ctrl and F you can type in the numbers 83030M and you will see that it brings up the CDI p/n: 117-TIA02-12

http://www.cdielectronics.com/downloads/CRPL.pdf

If you type in 98715M, the CDI p/n is: R6F0-85540-10-00.

As best I can find is that the 83030M is for the 60 hp engines with s/ns beginning with 675.
The 97815M is for the 60 hp engine with s/ns beginning with 6F0.

You could send a message to Faztbullet here on this site as he may know if they are compatible or contact CDI but at the moment, it seems that you have one for engines beginning with 675.

I was thinking if i buy the stator that suites the TIA02-12, the wire colours will match up,
my stator has no blue or yellow wires, but has 2 green wires

Re: yamaha mariner 60hp cdi wiring 1983

L just means a long shaft

If you look at the s/n list I sent you, you will see what that s/n brings up and it states that yours is a long shaft engine. Is it a long or short shaft.

As stated in my previous post 98715M is the right CDI for your original setup. However, you are now saying that you are going to use a T1A02-12 which is not the correct one for engines which begin with 6F0 as yours is. It is for engines which begin with 675. The reason I said to contact CDI is that I cannot confirm the compatibility.
As far as the manual goes, the 6F0 series engines were only available in 1982/3 so if that manual is not the correct one, I do not have another one.
