Hi there

I have a mariner 40 hp 1980 "made in japan" I also have a remote from yamaha 703. I would very much like to connect these two. The previous owner found i neccesary to cut the cables. So i do not have the proper connectors.

I have tried to connect and mannaged to get the thing working. But not the idle throttle.
Anyone with a wiring diagram fpr the remote and the engine.

The idle throttle controls the center conductor of the throttle remote cable. The control box knows not what is on the other end of the cable. If you can control your engine throttle with your yammie box, then you should be able to control the idle speed i.e. fast idle function. If not look at the box for the problem, not the engine/cable interface.
