  • 1974 7.5 lower unit "b" Bearing Carrier Part Number?

It seems that I damaged the bearing carrier in the lower unit of my 7.5. in trying to replace the prop seal. Does anyone know the part number of this item? It is a type "b" lower unit. Also looking for the part number of the spanner nut. Thx

Well, I am having problems getting the prop shaft removed. Any tricks to removing? The spanner nut/cover & galling washer have been removed, but the carrier, shaft etc. still wont come even with the prop clamped in vise. And hitting case pretty hrd with rubber mallet. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Soak the inner and outer support rings with powertune.
