So I recently picked up this motor for veryyyy cheap. I know nothing about boat motors and figured this would be a good starter outboard to learn on. Well long story short I have a wiring harness for it but once I have connected it when I turn the key all it does is a constant beep and won't turn over. I have made sure that the oil level is full, I have also disconnected the engine overheat sensor to see if that could be the issue. Still nothing. Also I have included a picture can anyone tell me what this red wire connects too? I am a beginner and at a loss!

Is the Serial # 0G136906?

06136906 is for a 4 cylinder Mercruiser

I feel like an idiot. You are correct it is 0G136906. Eyes aren’t as good as they used to be

Update, The motor will turn over but I still have the constant beep. I’ve bypassed the over heat sensor, any idea what it could be causing the constant beep?

When you say 'Bypassed', did you ground it or just disconnected it?
