My dad gave me this motor. He bought it new at bass pro in 2018. The motor has 0.5 hours on it that were logged by the salesman when he cranked it in the dealership. It has never seen water. It has no controls or tiller.
I am looking to get a smaller aluminum boat 15-18’ that will be good on gas and not drive like a paw paw. I would like to be able to go at least 30 with one 200 lb man and be able to put 2 grown ups and a kid in there and get on plane easily.
That being said, I’m worried about the weight of this thing on a smaller hull. Here are a few random questions I’d like to get anyone’s input on. Any help is greatly appreciated.
1-How much does it cost for a tiller vs buying and installing steering and controls?
2-What size all- welded boat is ideal for this motor?
3-how much will this motor sell for? (If I find I’m trying to fit a round peg in a square hole and decide to sell it to help pay for the perfect rig)
