We have a 2 stroke outboard motor that seized. We ran it with out oil for 1/2 hour max. Can someone tell if I stand a chance there may be minimal amount of damage or if basically it junk. The motor is either a 1999 or 2000.25?hp mercury motor. Please share any advice or thoughts.

straight gassed for that long, is junk. Pretty sure any Mercosil 25hp powerhead will swap onto it. That's about 1994-2005 engines. and fairly common. Don't spend over $2k fixing it as that's all it's worth. Should be able to get a powerhead for less than that

It should be a Mercosil block (word cast o top of block). If so just have it bored and replace pistons and gaskets. You can get up to .040 for it but will need a special hone for cylinder.
