What kind of battery do I need?

Hello,
I hv a mercury 25 outboard and I’m not sure what kind of battery I need. Could someone point me in the right direction?

If it has electric start you could buy the smallest marine starting battery you could find.
I'm guessing that would be about 600 MCA marine cranking amps.

Will you be using any accessories for long periods of time, like a fish finder or trolling motor?

The type of battery you need is very dependent on what you have in the boat. For just the 25hp motor, a small marine cranking battery is more than sufficient--as stated above a 24 group. However, if you plan to use a trolling motor, or fish finder, or radio....etc, you may want a larger battery or consider a deep cycle for accessories. Let us know what you plan on using it for!
