merc carb overflow connector

The carb in the photo is a merc 2bbl off a 3.0L mercruiser (1990). Is the over flow connector in the yellow circle a check valve? Mine is partially clog. It passes air both ways but there is a blockage. I don't know whether it needs to be clean or if I need a new one. Thanks.

Remove it and clean it,no check valve in there.

No it's not going to be a check valve, It's just an open elbow Merc part number 22-54090 item number 15, http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show...=1604&bnbr=110&bdesc=Fuel+Pump+and+Carburetor

If it was to be a check valve the class part number would of started with 21-54090 not 22-54090.
