So, I got everything working on the boat but now my tachometer is not working. At an idle its indicating about 3000 rpm and when i just touch the throttle it swoops up to near 5000. Any ideas?

Just thought, the only thing I have done between it working and not is changed one battery and disconnected and reconnected the other.

you have a bad connection somewhere, or the tach took a dump.

Ayuh,.... I've had alota bad luck with boat tachs,...
They live in less than ideal conditions,.... gettin' wet,...

Sometimes thumpin' it with yer finger brings it back, for awhile,.....
Sometimes adjustin' the selector switch on the back will bring it back, for awhile,....
Other times, I just throw another tach in the dash,....

Remember, the OEM paid less than $20 for the tach and speedometer and less than $5 for the other gauges (commercial, not retail).

Well it wasn't the tach, this time. I pulled all the wires off the battery and cleaned them real good and its working fine now. Thanks y'all!
