Okay I got a 92 sanger direct drive, got it out of the garage today to check some things, got the batteries hooked up and check some accessories and fuses then decided to put the hose in the inlet tube so I could fire her up. crank her a few times, gave her some throttle then she fired right up, my dad turned on the hose, and within a few seconds it started leaking out of the starbord side riser. Yaaaa my first real problem and I didnt even get her on the lake yet.

Serial number is D715136

as I shop this website, and I look under INBOARDS it doesn't list Mercruiser but i have to look under inboard/outboards to find mercruiser, which is not what I have. Are the MC inboard/outboards the same as the Direct drive inboards? Can someone who knows this website help me navigate to the right riser for my motor? Thanks guys. I just dont wanna drop alot of coin to just buy the wrong stuff.

That riser appears to be the correct one , center rise 4 inch
looks like manual 15 for the engine.

this is the port side riser, I am just confused which one I need, I guess any of them for a 350 should bolt on.

port or stbd makes no difference, they go either way. As long as its a 4 inch center rise your good.

Re: Cracked Riser

most of us call them risers/elbow. We don't usually get too many motors with riser extentions. The extentions are used when the manufacturer cant achieve 13 inches above the water line with the manifold/riser combination. see pages 41-43 in here http://www.boatfix.com/merc/Install/gas/86419602.pdf

Okay so I called a marina I got my steering setup from since he was a nice guy he was able to point me in a direction. He narrowed the stock part number down to 2 possible ones

A. 98504A-3
B. 44354A-3

So these are what I found, but I really still have no clue which do you guys based on my picture of mine do you think matches??

1. This says it replaces Mercruiser # 44354, 807914 and 807988 Mercruiser Elbow - H20 Manifolds - H2O Manifolds T-20976

2. This says it replaces MERCURY MARINE 44354A3, MERCURY MARINE 807988A2, Exhaust Manifold Elbow for Mercruiser 44354A3, GLM 51140, Barr MC-20-44354 - Sierra 18-1976-1

3. This says it replaces MERCURY MARINE 98504A3 Exhaust Manifold Elbow for Mercruiser 98504A3, Universal, GLM 51110, Barr MC-20-98504 - Sierra 18-1970-1

So I have been Eyballing these, since I cannot find my OEM part number anywhere on my elbows, or manifolds for that matter, I have no Manual that says anything about it. Manual 15 I looked throught but cannot find anything on the part number.

Should I just pick one? How is IBoats on return policy if I get the wrong one? This is getting annoying and I totally understand what boat stands for now.
