Hello all.. new to forum.. SO much info on here...I Love it. I have searched for the answer to this question before posting but could not find.

I am swapping out a Mercruiser 120 in my boat and the donor motor I purchased has the shift plate mounted on top of the valve cover. My current motor has the assembly mounted on the port side of the engine directly on the manifold.

what is the best way to "convert" am I able to just reconnect my shift linage and throttle to the new plate assembly with no issues?

Thank you in advance for any help.

That should work just fine.

Welcome aboard!

Thank you Fishermark... I was just worried about the length of the cables not being the same.

Now.. next question..can I figure out how the throttle was rigged.. the new motor was already out of the boat so I did not get a chance to see how the throttle was hooked up... I will see if I can find a photo of the valve cover mount
