Hydraulic steering upgrade

I don't think this is possible, but I'll ask anyway. I have an MC-1 outdrive, the steering is cable actuated. Is there a way to install a Baystar pump and hook up a ram to push/pull the steering arm for the outdrive? I would not bother until such time as my mechanical steering went south, but can this conversion be done?

If you have the right ram, then you can do it without too much trouble... The correct ram, by the Baystar website, for an MC-1 is BA125-8EMV

Btw. You could be waiting a while for the mechanical steering to pack it in. Mine is 42 years old and still as good as the day it went in...

Thanks achris, sounds good. Mine seems to be working just fine as well. I have tried to adjust the trim tab to adjust for prop torque, but you always have to hang on to wheel or she will turn by herself pretty good. I wonder if a zero feedback hydraulic steering would do away with that?

If you read the notes on the website it says you still need the tab, so it's not a 'zero- feedback' system.
