Iv' got a VDO combo TACH/Hour meter. The hour meter has quit. Tach still works perfectely. The boat is powered by a 1999 5.0 mercruiser. Normally aspirated, Does anyone know where the hour meter is connected to the engine. Fuses all appear to be intact.

Thanks

Re: Hour Meter Failure

The hour meter would draw power from the Ing. Circuit,....When you turn the Key On.......

The Problem is Probably Internal in the unit........

Re: Hour Meter Failure

The hourmeter is not hooked seperate from the tach. There is a circuit board inside the tach, and the tach has both ign (purple) and tach signal(gray) wires to it.

PS: It's probably cheapest to just install a seperate hourmeter. I have noticed there are a lot of the Volvo tachs with built in hour meters that have inop hourmeters.
