Just inbstalled my new manifolds and used the original risers, when I dismantled the riser from the manifold I noticed a blocking plate between the manifold and the riser. This was only on the Port manifold, nothin on the starbort side. So I left the blocking plate out. Should I reinstall the plate? What is it used for? and should there be one on both sides?

Re: Exhaust riser Question

What is the make/year/type of your motor? Different block-off plates are used for different types of cooling systems. Your T-stat housing will determine whether you should have the block off plates in there or not. If you have the wrong gaskets in there you will have cooling issues so post some more information about your motor.
