Hi, i have a 1996 four winns 240 horizon. its got a 5.8l fuel injected ford 351. we took it to the four winns dealer and they couldnt diagnose further until we replaced the fuel injectors. what happens is when we rev in neutral or while in gear, it starts "hiccuping". we ran from new fuel so it couldnt be a fuel problem. heres a video of us revving it while its in neutral.

thanks, if you need more into ill try to provide it.

yeah its a volvo penta i/o, but this section is more populated and its a ford engine not a volvo engine, so their similar. if im violating the rules jus let me know

Its hard to tell from a video -- especially a cell phone one.

That said, I think you need to do two things.

1. Never go back to the mechanic that told you to replace injectors.

2. replace the fuel filter(s)

If that doesn't fix it, replace the fuel pump

Basically, it sounds to me like it's starving for fuel.

Hope this helps....

The dealer said that one of the fuel injectors was bad, so we went ahead and replaced all of them for the heck of it. We replaced the fuel filter twice (with new ones of course) and no change. next time we go to the lake we are going to test the fuel pump pressure. i can also add a new video if it helps with an hd camera..all i had on me was my cell phone. thanks for the reply
