i have 88 sunbird with a 4.3 v-6 ,it,s a 20ft. cuddy the prop. thats on it is a stainless 14.25x19 my rpm,s seem to be about 3600 to 3800 at full trottle at 37 mph.that does not seem to be right ,what is that motor rated at for max. rpm,s.<br /> thanks <br /> bob

is your boat waterlogged ?? is your motor Tired ?? try a 17" prop... you should be at about 44/4800rpms......<br /><br />Bondo

Check the calibration on the tach. Use an external meter, put engine in water tank and run no more than 2000 rpms. Compare the techs readings.
