Mercuiser Coil and Ignition Parts

I have a 90 Regal Majestic with a mercruiser 5.7 Aplha one Thunderbolt in it. I was wonder if you can use any kind of coil for a chevy V8 in it or have to use a mercruiser one. If not why??? And I am not looking to hear the standard Sparks issues answer.. HA HA....<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />K. Miller
