Knock Sensor Install - Teflon Tape?

Quick question about the installation of a new knock sensor. Would it be good practice to wrap a bit of teflon tape on the threads before screwing the knock sensor in?
    1987 Alpha 1 - 2008 efi 5.7 L S/B.
ON the oppostie side of the engine there is s small brass plug to install. It has tape on it. Wondering if the same for Knock sensor?
    Thanks Roman

    Nothing on the threads.

Was not even going to post when i saw Ht post, cause he got it right, always does.

    No anti-seize ether.

Resist the urge to coat every thread with something.

I seem to remember the service manual indicating specifically to NOT use teflon (or thread sealant) tape on the knock sensor. There's really no reason anyway. You're not sealing anything anyway.

A knock sensor just screws into the block to detect engine knock, pre ignition. There should be no need for any thread sealant, besides it needs a good ground.

That is ONLY if it is a genuine OEM Mercruiser part. Aftermarket manufactures miss that step, along with a few other obvious differences in some parts. How else can they make them cheaper.

It would not be a good practice to use teflon tape on any system in a boat. There are better products. Standard pipe dope with teflon in it is 10000% better than teflon tape.
TT wil also insulate the ground to sensors of any kind.
