What can I use for the threads on the cylinder head bolts? I know the manual says to use perfect seal, but the nearest marine store is 45 minutes from my house.I'm installing heads on my 1999 4.3 Vortec.

A few years ago Don S told me that Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket was similar.

I got mine at Napa.

High-Temp Red RTV Silicone work? it says 650 degrees intermittent, remains flexable etc? Thats all I can come up with unless I wait till tommarrow.I'm trying to keep the progress rolling because I work a lot and summers short in Ohio, sometimes it only lasts about 2 weeks or so :)

No, RTV won't work.
Read the blue lines in my signature.

PS: Born & raised in Ohio, spent the last 15 years in Alaska. Don't give me a bunch of BS about the length of your summer.
Fix it right...... the first time
