Hi,

I hear rumors that it's easier to winterize an OMC stringer ? Can someone elaborate ? I have an '81 V6. I have also thought about using it throughout the winter - apparently the fishing here is excellent throughout. Our lake doesn't ever freeze, but the air temp will drop below freezing and stay there for a coupl of months. Is it possible to use it through this time or am I just being foolish to even think about it ?

Thanks !

Re: Winterizing OMC Stringer

you can use it - just redrain everything each time you come home - 4 drains on your 3.8- 1 on each manifold, one either side of the block.
Always park boat with the drive down or the water goes in through the prop and damages the water pump housing.
