Hi all - total newbie to the site, but man is there a lot of good info on here! So, I'm the second owner of a 1983 Thunderbird Formula 2 Bowrider. It's got a 228 (not sure if its an R or not, but I think I know how to confirm). The bellows leaked on the ol' girl sometime back, so I need to fix that and replace the gimble bearing. I've been researching this, but I need a little help.
After some extensive searching, I found the Service Manual #3. I was hoping it would give a step by step on how to do the job, but that part seems really condensed, and all of the detail is on the installation.
So do you just reverse the installation steps or am I missing something? Any materials or advice you have on the replacement is much appreciated!
Thanks!
