Coupler,flywheel and rear motor mount

Silly question here. Before I go any further, do I have to change my flywheel, coupler and rear motor mount. I removed a 1986 3.0 mercursier 140 hp and I am putting a 1984 3.0 mercursier 140 hp. I have read 1992 n under I do not. Is this correct

Ok thank you. I know my starter fit n started it with no issues. I just don't want to align it n find out the outdrive won't mash up

yes, all 1990 and older parts are the same (generally), where 1991 and newer are the 1-piece RMS block.

the coupler would bolt to either flywheel, however only the right flywheel will bolt to the crank.

the outdrive splines mate with the coupler.

So it's safe to assume I can leave it alone then n be in the water fishing soon lol. Thank you for your response
