1989 170 alpha 1 idles great will not throttle

Took the boat out fishing .It ran great trolled about two hours ,wrapped up to go back in no throttle response ,idled back to marina? First time out after storage.

and how long was your 470 in storage, and how old is the fuel

crud in the accelerator pump circuit is the most probable issue.

Maybe the cable came off the carb or shifter. If throttle cable came loose it would still shift

Filled up with new fuel had someone work shifter and everything seems to move at carb all linkages look ok. Starts up fine and idles,goes into gear both ways but no throttle at all?

and you are looking down the carb throat making sure the throttle blades are moving as well?

When you move the throttle forward and it goes in gear, the carb linkage does not move when you move it further forward? If this is the case, the your throttle cable is either disconnected or is broke. It can be disconnected at the carb or the throttle handle
