Steering Cable removal Merc 4.3

I have a 4.3 and I want to change the steering cable. I was able to remove the cotter pin and pin from the one side but I cannot for life of me get the nut off on the other side. It looks like it’s spinning or rotating the tube when I try to loosen the nut. Am I doing something wrong? It’s a rack and pinion steering system with hydraulic.

Any help would be great. Thank you

Ayuh,..... There should be a set of wrench flats on the tube to hold it,......

I will get a picture, put the isn't any flats, just threads unless the flats are not near the nut. I will look when I get home today.
