Hi All,

I have recently bought a Draco 2500 TC and I need to repair/replace the old crappy sterndrives. Unfortunately the serial numbers aren't legible.
They are pre alpha.. Possibly MR/R the top isn't flat but has a kind of eyelet. The trim rams are also quite thin. As you can see from the attached they need to go and some reconditioned ones need to be ordered.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers
Chris

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,.... If yer gonna replace 'em, Alpha 1s will bolt on, 'n run,.....

If yer gonna tear 'em down, 'n rebuild 'em, the vintage of MC-1 will become apparent as you get deeper,.....

What are the motors,..?? that'll determine the gear ratio,.....

Hi,
Thanks for the reply!
She currently has 2x mercruiser 470's.
So they are merc mc-1's? (I'm quite new to the boating world)

Cheers

Hey,

It seems it'll be easier to buy reconditioned alpha 1 gen 1s and bolt them on as you mentioned.
Would that include transome/gimble/Bell housing or can I just purchase the upper/lower assys?

Thx

Just purchase a complete drive (which is just the upper and lower) and bolt it straight onto the MC1 Bell housing...

Lovely boats, the Draco. Know a few of them here. Haven’t known one with those engines though. Usually GM V6/V8s. More often VP too.
