Im working on a 1990 7.4 mag merc IO. How much pressure should the 2 nylon spring loaded balls have against the thermostat housing ? currently they touch the housing with the least amount of pressure. I was worried of over loading the spring pressure. I am currently eliminating sources for mystery temp gauge fluctuations. stat housing is new design and ball seats show wear so Ive refaced for better fitment,
