Greetings - I found moisture around the valve cover seam. I suspect that the valve cover gasket needs to be replaced.

Questions:
This seems trivial to replace, but wanted to check to see if I'd get a "jack in the box" explosion upon removal.
Do I need to remove/reinstall the exhaust manifold to do this properly?
Should I do both at the same time?
What part number for the gasket?
What's the recommended "gasket sealant" approach?
Thanks!

Yes, in most cases the exhaust manifold has to come off for clearance. Use gasket 27-827154 and torque dry to 106 in-lb

any felpro 4.3 liter gasket set available at any good automotive store would work

as for the removal of the manifold, yes, many times it is needed, however if you can get the two lower bolts out, some times you can **** it just right and pull it past the rockers.

I've got: 27-827154 for the valve cover gaskets.
Can someone verify the riser and manifold gaskets parts?

thanks!
